AES WINS LARGEST DESIGN BUILD COMMISSION IN BRITISH COLUMBIA

Applied Engineering Solutions is excited to be part of the project team alongside Bird Construction and Kasian Architecture for the new Canada Post Mail Processing Plant in Richmond, BC.

The Canada Post mail processing plant, currently located in downtown Vancouver, will be relocating its operations near the Vancouver International Airport in Richmond, BC as a strategy to improve Canada Post's transportation links for faster delivery logistic and provide better customer service. The new $200-million, 700,000-square-foot facility will be a modern mail processing plant with state-of-the-art mail sorting equipment, a two storey office area, and approximately 60 high dock bays for shipping and delivery. It is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2011 and expected to be fully operational by 2014.

The project will be designed to a high environment and energy efficient standard and will achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification using the Design-Build procurement method.
