Applied Engineering Solutions Ltd. is a growing electrical engineering consulting firm with offices in Vancouver and Victoria. Our firm has gained an excellent reputation over the past nine years and continues to expand its client base and project demographics.

Responsibilities

We have immediate openings for a Senior Electrical Designer/Engineer to join our Vancouver office. Responsibilities include designing electrical systems for projects, requiring strong experience in areas of the commercial, educational, justice and institutional sectors. The qualified candidates must be able to complete projects independently. Candidates will apply their engineering knowledge on project work from conceptual design through to completion on both new construction and renovation projects. This will include design of power distribution, lighting, communication, low tension and life safety systems.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in an electrical technology/engineering program but is dependent on abilities,
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Revit is preferred,
  • Must be able to work within a team environment,
  • Must be organized and able to prioritize various tasks and have a flexible approach to assignments,
  • Minimum of 10 years experience required,
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems design,
  • Experience with and comfortable with attendance at design coordination meetings with Interior Designers/Architects/Owners,
  • Construction phase related services,
  • Microsoft Word/Excel skills required,
  • It is a fast paced environment and candidate must be willing to meet quick deadlines, handle multiple projects,
  • Coordination with other disciplines and client,
  • Strong spoken and written technical skills preferred,
  • LEED certification is required.
